PES 2019 won’t need an introduction to soccer fans, but for everyone else, PES is Konami’s premiere soccer simulation franchise. It features over 350 different football clubs within the game, with 293 of them being licensed clubs from across the world. Don’t let its self-description as a soccer simulator confuse you, though. PES 2019 is in many ways the same kind of arcade-ish soccer game as FIFA. It’s no Football Manager, at least. It is, however, known for its impressive visual fidelity within the genre.
July’s second game, Horizon Chase Tubo, is not actually associated with the popular Xbox racing game franchise of a similar name. Horizon Chase Turbo is a racing game inspired by classic games from the 80s and 90s, like Rad Racer, Out Run, and early Cruis’n USA. More specifically, it’s a behind-the-car camera racing game with stylized tracks and environments, sharp turns, and lots of nostalgia. It’s the throwback arcade racing game that old school racing fans have been looking for.
According to Sony, both PES 2019 and Horizon Chase Turbo will be available for download starting on Tuesday, July 2. They’ll both remain available for download the entire month, through August 5. Afterward, so long as the PS Plus subscriber has downloaded them, they’ll remain in the user’s account.
With several days left before July 2 arrives, and the new month of PS Plus begins, subscribers still have plenty of time to download June’s free PS Plus offerings. Both Borderlands: The Handsome Collection, which features Borderlands 2, Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, and all DLC, including the new Commander Lilith and the Fight for Sanctuary pack, as well as Sonic Mania will be available through August 4. Don’t wait too long, though. PlayStation Plus games won’t be available forever.
